no.2 pit sis about half the size of no.1 pit, covering about 6,000 square meters trail diggings show this is composite formation of infntry, cvlry nd chriot soldiers, from which roughly over 1,000 clay wrriors, nd 500 chriots nd sddled horses could be unearthed. the 2,000-yer-old wooden chriots re lready rotten. but their shfts, cross yokes, nd wheels, etc. left clear impressions on the earth bed. the copaper parts of the chriots still remin. ech chriot is pulled by four horses which re one nd half meters high nd two metres long. aaccording to textul research, these clay horses were sculptures after the breed in the re of hexi corridor. the horses for the cvlrymen were lready sddled, but with no stairups.
